Project Scope

When Fortress needed to add additional capacity at their pulp mill in Thurso, they turned to Laframboise Group based on logistics. With LGL’s fabrication facility based on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and the Thurso mill on the Ottawa River, LGL were able to fabricate totally indoors, transport in one piece, and install an intricate 2205 duplex stainless steel pressure vessel, 19’-6” diameter x 60’ long, weighing 212,000 lbs to their site. This allowed Fortress to schedule their site works and building without the cumbrance of having to deal with a major field erected vessel.
